Indeed I am. And to assure you of this fact, here is a list of some of my favourite books so far (nowhere near an exhaustive list):
1. The Noughts and Crosses series- for a young adult audience, I think the story maintains a mature nature very well compared to some I have read. Because of the development of the characters, the ending made me miss them (as do most…)
2. The Hunger Games Trilogy
I have only read 1.5 of the three, but the story is so good- It is clichéd, but still unique. I like the sense the characters have under pressure, the lack of which usually annoys me. Plus there is killing…
3. Fearless
I am on #29 out of 36 (I know!) To be honest the writing is a bit sloppy sometimes, as I have found in modern children’s books, plus some aspects of the story are stretched beyond their lifespan. However the concept is very interesting and the main character is fairly consistent for such a long story, which has kept me going for this long…
4. CHERUB
The CHERUB books are a sensation among young adults nowadays, and I can see why. The combination of personal character backgrounds, drama, action and of course spies keeps kids interested. Again the writing isn’t best, but then Robert Muchamore wasn’t exactly a literary icon before the series. There are about the right amount of books, as the story is concluding just before it gets too familiar. I would count myself a fan, anyway…
So there we go. There are more, although most of my reading comprises of long series, and these are the ones that spring to mind.
